He Tried To Play It Cool... (Two versions)

So another talented woot artist and I combined forces for this week's Winter Derby over at Woot(!). Amazingly enough, we ended up with two very different shirts. We decided to submit both into the running.

That Gladiator Shirt

For Woot's 'Alternate History' derby I decided to pull out an old design I had made but had not submitted anywhere. I thought it turned out quite well. When I was making it I had a lot of trouble picking just the right colors.

Boom Stick Ricochet!

This week I got to work with longtime woot(!) favorite Zenne. We were only allowed to use one continuous line and one color. The idea is a bullet bouncing around all over the place and uh, eventially hitting that grumpy sun. I hope you like it ;-)

Office Vamp-ijinks

I have a new shirt up on Threadless.com.

A while back I made a design which featured what I figured an office full of vampires might look like: a bunch of pale people in suits congregating around a water cooler full of blood. This concept of vampires and offices really resonated with me (I've spent time in cubicle-land, and I don't ever want to go back), so I tweaked the concept and came up with this design.

We all know vampires are burned by sunlight, surely other bright sources affect them to some degree :-)

I really enjoyed making this shirt. I got to play around with textures on the T-rex and I think it turned out well. I'm planning on teaching myself how to draw more realistic human shapes, but that's on the backburner till I get more time.
